All Early Voting for Ionia County takes place in the City of Ionia.

Notice of Intent of Early Absent Voter Ballot Processing and Tabulation
PUBLIC NOTICE
The City Clerk of the City of Belding hereby gives public notice of the establishment of the City of Belding Early Absent Voter Counting Board for the purposes of ballot processing and tabulating for the November 3, 2026 General Election as allowed per MCL 168.765a and approved by the City of Belding Election Commission on October 6, 2026.
No election results will be generated, printed, or reported before 8 a.m. on Election Day.
The City of Belding Early Absent Voter Counting Board will be processing and tabulating absentee ballots as follows:
TIME: 8AM to 4PM (unless finished sooner)
DATE: Sunday, November 1, 2026
LOCATION: City Hall, 120 S. Pleasant Street
(In the atrium between City Hall and the Fire Station)

Canvass of Election Results
The Ionia County Board of Canvassers will begin canvassing the results of the November 3, 2026 General Election on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 9:00AM in the multipurpose room in the Ionia County Courthouse, located at 100 W. Main Street, Ionia, MI 48846.

RE: Regular Meeting
The Tuesday, October 27, 2026 Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled as there are no updates or new business items to discuss.
The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Depot.
The City of Belding will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at meetings/hearings, to individuals with disabilities attending the meetings/hearings upon 14-day notice to the City of Belding. Inquiries may be made by calling the Janae Ortego, City Clerk at 616-794-1900, ext. 210. Minutes of the public body are stored in the City Clerkâs Office.
